In this episode I talk about how my inner drill sergeant came across as too "militant" in my couples counseling class. I don't see why there should be a problem with firm and determined inner dialogue if that's what works for me.
Furthermore, I cover my energy level in contrast to many people's around me in the first middle-class'ish neighborhood I've ever lived in. I've lived in this city for sixteen years, and I'm still having a culture clash.
Lastly I talk about one of my anti-depression techniques. It's not really an anti-depression, as in it doesn't promise to make you feel better, but it's a technique that give you a much higher potential for feeling better. In a nutshell it's: Action can precede emotion. The technique is about how to use your wit to get you to act.
One thing I forgot to mention in the podcast is that you can simply visualize yourself doing a task, in your minds eye. This will give you practice in seeing yourself do it. It won't get it done, but it will make it closer to "old hat" for you.
